Venue96 ("we", "our", "us") is a train ticket booking platform operated by Voyantra Agrotech Private Limited, having its registered office at 14 Gopi Bose Lane, Bowbazaar, Kolkata - 700012, West Bengal, India. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use www.venue96.com and associated services (the "Platform"). This Policy is published in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Venue96, we collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: full name, email address, mobile number, password (stored as a hash), date of birth, gender.
  • Passenger information: name, age, gender, berth preference, Government-issued ID type and number of each passenger being booked.
  • Booking & transaction data: source / destination station, journey date, class, quota, PNR, fare paid, payment mode, Razorpay order & payment identifiers.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, referral URL, session logs and cookies.
  • Communication data: any queries, complaints or correspondence you send us via the contact form, email, phone or WhatsApp.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and maintain your account and authenticate logins.
  • To process train ticket bookings, payments, refunds and cancellations.
  • To generate PNR numbers, e-tickets and booking confirmations.
  • To send transactional notifications by email, SMS and WhatsApp.
  • To comply with Indian Railways rules regarding passenger identity verification.
  • To prevent fraud, detect misuse and protect platform integrity.
  • To improve our services, UI/UX and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, lawful requests from authorities).

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Indian Railways / IRCTC — to fulfil your booking and allocate seats.
  • Payment gateways (e.g. Razorpay) — to process payments and refunds securely. Card / UPI credentials are captured directly by the gateway and are never stored on our servers.
  • Cloud hosting and email / SMS service providers — operating under contractual data-protection obligations.
  • Law enforcement and regulatory authorities — when required under applicable Indian law or by a valid court order.
  • Successors in interest in the event of a merger, acquisition or restructuring of the company, subject to equivalent privacy protections.

4. Payment Information

All online payments on Venue96 are processed through PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways. We do not store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking credentials at any time. We retain only the payment reference IDs returned by the gateway to reconcile bookings and initiate refunds.

5. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use first-party cookies for session management, CSRF protection and remembering your preferences. Analytics cookies may be used to understand aggregate traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser, but certain features (login, checkout) may not work correctly.

6. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Booking, passenger-identity and payment records are retained for a minimum of 5 financial years to comply with tax and regulatory requirements. You may request deletion of your account at any time by writing to us at voyantra26@gmail.com; residual records required by law will remain in archived form.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable security practices including SSL/TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, session regeneration on login, CSRF tokens on all forms, prepared statements for database access and access-controlled infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, and you are responsible for keeping your account password confidential.

8. Your Rights

Subject to Indian law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct or update inaccurate data through your profile page.
  • Request deletion of your account.
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential processing such as marketing communications.
  • Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see Section 11).

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from minors. A parent or legal guardian may book tickets on behalf of a minor passenger.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised Policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will additionally be communicated via email or in-app notification.
